A Little trip to Rajiv Gandhi National park, Nagarahole.

As part of my holiday calendar of this year, Me and my family spent two days in the remarkable Rajiv Gandhi National park in Nagarahole.Described as one of Karnataka and the India's eminent National park, we were keen to see as much of it as we could. Nagarahole is a massive wildlife park stretches over 643 Square kilometers, protecting the wildlife and their habitat, work to restore and maintain ecosystems.
Heading towards Nagarahole.
Nagarahole is situated on the South border of karnataka, indeed it forms part of Bandipura National park(340 sq miles ),Mudumalai National park(320 sq miles) it forms the largest protected area in Southern India, totaling 2,183 km2 (843 sq mi).
National park is largely a flat grassland regions, with some tight bamboo bushes and some areas where there is a more open mix of grassland and trees. There are several small streams, infact place derives its name "Naga" meaning snake and "hole" refering to streams.
Large population of prey are essential to sustain predator population
There are several home-stay, and resorts where you can stay during your visit to national park, all depending on your personal budget. we booked home-stay in advance at kutta which is near to Irppu falls. The home we stayed at was called "Rest-In" and we had a great stay. The Stay environment was amazing and a beautiful experience.
"Rest-In"  home-stay +91 9141832945.

We did not encounter much wildlife on the way to safari point, we saw a four loner elephants, deers, and wild pigs but the best pictures we made were of this gorgeous snake right in front of our car!

We also did white river rafting in Barpole located in Coorg district. Barpole river offers wildest rafting in karnataka with rapids comes to level 3-4 in peak and we were in right season with sporadic rainfall at Coorg. A successful rafting run without casualties happened with combination of great guides, proper training. Thankfully we had good quality equipment and gear guides who regularly conducts rafting at barpole, the training program includes rafting commands and rescue techniques.

The next 2hrs was amazing with the rafting in river barpole.

It was mind blowing rapids which went up to level 3, sometimes challenging the rafters.
That ended our first little trip to nagarahole. And I know I'm going to return here many more times in future. which pulls me in never ending attraction.
